Age 90
Of North St. Paul
Neva passed away following complications from a massive stroke she had almost three years earlier. The daughter of Bruce and Pearl Hunt, Neva was born in Jackson, MN. Preceding her in death were her husband Arsen John Savchuk, of 55 years, and three brothers Robert, Marvin and Clifford. She leaves three children and their spouses Susan Marie (Roger) Hart of Suffolk, VA, Barry Edmond (Carol) Savchuk, Orlando, FL, Kevin John (Lennett) Savchuk, Willmar, MN; plus numerous nieces and nephews. Neva was a devoted member of North Presbyterian Church, North St Paul, for over 60 years and volunteered in the church office, sang in the church choir and performed as secretary for the Women's Circle at her church. She worked for a group of doctors as an insurance clerk, the Minnesota Farm Bureau and State of Minnesota, holding several positions while there, her last position with the cosmetology board. After retiring as a civil servant, Neva volunteered for the city of St. Paul and read to students at a local elementary school. She also found joy in attending painting classes and passionately created beautiful watercolor paintings of flowers, mostly gifts for her family and friends. All who knew Neva will miss her infectious laugh that could fill a room, even started an entire movie theater laughing (true story). Service Monday (11/4) 11:00 AM at NORTH PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, 2675 E. Hwy 36, North St. Paul. Interment Union Cemetery. Visitation Sunday 2-5 PM at SANDBERG FUNERAL HOME, 2593 E. 7th Ave., North St. Paul, and one hour prior to service at church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
