Worcester - Willene "Billie" G. (Cook) Carroll, 76, passed away Thursday, October 31, 2013. She was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Alyce B. (Damon) and Robert A. Cook. Willene was a graduate of Commerce High School and earned her Associate degree from the University of Massachusetts - Amherst. While raising her four daughters, she was a Teacher's Aide at Gage Street School. Passionate about making a difference in the lives of children, she went on to work for the Department of Revenue as a Child Support Enforcement Case Manager. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church. Some of her many talents included sewing, arts and crafts, cooking, and decorating for the holidays. She also enjoyed singing.
Billie is survived by four daughters, Kathleen A. Johnson and her husband Russell of CA, Maureen A. Dubois of Auburn, Patricia A. Celularo and her spouse Gloria-Jean of Worcester, and Paula A. Catron and her husband Gerald of NM. She also leaves a brother and 2 sisters, Robert A. Cook of CA, Carol Prestidge of IL, and Fay Stevens and her husband Raymond of Worcester; two grandsons, Matthew T. Dubois and Jarrod Alan Catron; as well as many nephews, nieces, and friends. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Edward A. Dubois, Jr., and 2 brothers, Alan and Damon Cook.
Calling hours will be held at Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street, Sunday, Nov. 3, from 3-6 pm. The funeral service will be held at Wesley United Methodist Church, 114 Main St., Worcester on Monday, Nov. 4, at 12 pm. Burial will be at a later date in Hope Cemetery.
