Obituary

GLOUCESTER – Robert F. “Bob” Marshall, Sr., 71, died Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at his home surrounded by his family following an extended illness. He was the husband of Bonita L. (Goodhue) Marshall. They shared 46 years of marriage.
Born in Gloucester on April 30, 1942, he was the son of the late Ednot and Irene M. (O’Hara) Marshall. He was a lifelong resident of Gloucester.
Bob was employed as a cook for Gorton’s of Gloucester for twenty-eight years before his retirement in 2000. He had also worked as a carpenter for many years. He enjoyed photography, drawing and loved spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by four sons, Robert Marshall, Jr. and his fiancée, Joanne Frontiero, Stephen Marshall, David Marshall and his wife, Amanda (Martin) and Christopher Gray; eleven grandchildren, Michael, Nathaniel, Michelle, Tasha, Rome and Charley Marshall, Katelyn Munoz, Cruz Ortiz, Mason Ortiz and Katana and Marissa Gray; two great-granddaughters, Alexis Marshall and Isabella Munoz; a sister, Carol Terrell; four brothers-in-law, George Goodhue, Dennis Tarr and his wife, Diane, Brian Tarr and Kevin Tarr; a sister-in-law, Kathy Spinney and her husband, Philo; several nieces and nephews including, John Hall and his wife, Ofelia; dear family friend, Christine Aiken and her husband, Heath and Bob’s beloved dogs, Chewie, Toto, Binkey, DeeDee and Isis.
His funeral service will be held on Saturday in the Pike-Grondin Funeral Home, 61 Middle Street, Gloucester at 11 a.m. Visiting hours will be held on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the Cape Ann Animal Aid, 4 Paws Lane, Gloucester, MA 01930.
