LOWELL—James M. Garrity, Jr., 65 years old, died Friday September 17th at the D’Youville Senior Care Center.
He was born in Lowell, on July 2, 1939, a son of the late James M. and Laura (Whitten) Garrity, and was a graduate of Lowell High School, where he was the captain of the varsity baseball team and a varsity basketball player. He was also an avid golfer at Nabnasset Country Club.
Mr. Garrity served in the United States Army from 1961 until 1964. He had been employed by the City of Lowell Wastewater Treatment Facility for over 20 years.
Surviving him are a sister: Constance T. Carkin, of Lowell; a cousin: Hank Garrity, of Lowell; also four nieces and two nephews.
