Mary A. (Saster) Cheli, 88, of Franklin died October 28 in Milford Regional Medical Center following a brief illness.
Born in Franklin, March 7, 1925, the daughter of the late Frank and Florence (Nasuti) Saster, Mrs. Cheli was a lifelong Franklin resident.
Mrs. Cheli had been a manager of the ladies department at Mammoth Mart and Mars Department store for many years.
She had previously worked for the Whiting and Davis Company.
Mary loved to dance, for many years she regularly went to Mosley’s on the Charles and the King Philip Ballroom to ballroom and line dance.
Mary was an active member of the Franklin Senior Center.
She is survived by her son Paul Cheli and his wife Pearl of Franklin and was the mother of the late Ronald Cheli.
She is also survived by her brother Frederick “Butch” Saster of Franklin and was the sister of the late Joseph, John and Anthony Saster and Lucy Molloy and Rose Crothers.
She is also survived by her grandchildren, Christina, Cheli, Mark Cheli, Eric Cheli, Andrea Cheli, Veanna Cheli and Nicole Cheli.
She also leaves her companion and dance partner of 35 years, Joseph DelGrasso of Mansfield and her cousin Dora Sacchetine of Franklin.
Her funeral will be held on Thursday October 31 from the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com) 131 Main Street in Franklin at 9:15 followed by a funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church at 10:00.
Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Calling hours will be on Wednesday from 4-8 p.m.
