CHICOPEE – Esther M. (Gregory) Perreault, 84, of the Fairview section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Saturday, October 26, 2013. She passed into Eternal Life at Holyoke Medical Center surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Holyoke on March 7, 1929, a beloved daughter of the late Frank and Erminia (Depre) Gregory. She was raised in the Willimansett section of Chicopee, graduated from the former Mount Carmel Elementary School and Holy Name High School, both in Chicopee and lived in Willimansett for many years before moving to the Fairview section of Chicopee around 1996. Esther was employed for over 20 years at the former Pat’s Supermarket in Holyoke and was last employed as a pharmacy technician at the former King’s Pharmacy in Chicopee Falls. She was a communicant of the former Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church in Willimansett and currently a communicant of Saint Anne Church in Fairview. Esther was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to her family and showered them with her love and affection which was returned to her a thousand fold. She leaves her beloved husband and best friend, Roland J. Perreault. They were married on September 2, 1950 at the former Saint Mary of the Assumption Church in Willimansett and were blessed with over 63 years of happiness together. She also leaves her two loving daughters, Joanne M. Rivest and her husband, Bruce, of Belchertown, and Carolyn A. Johnston and her husband, Stephen, of Pittsfield; her two cherished grandchildren, Matthew Rivest of Belchertown, and Sarah Hoar and her husband, Stephen, of Chicopee; her three cherished great-grandchildren, Brandon, Jacob, and Emelyn Hoar; her dear brothers, Edward Gregory and his wife, Rita, of Agawam, and Henry Gregory and his wife, Terry, of Huntington Beach, CA; and her many dear nephews and nieces. Besides her parents, she was also predeceased by her dear brother and sister, Dominic Gregory and Lena LaFlamme. Her relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday morning, October 31, 2013 at 10 a.m. in Saint Anne Church, 30 College Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her burial will follow the Mass at Notre Dame Cemetery, 63 Lyman Street, South Hadley, MA 01075.
