Edward “Diddie” Surette of Winslow Maine formerly of Stoneham passed away Friday March 8, 2002 in Maine. He was 77 years of age.
Born in Stoneham he was the son of the late Henry and Jacqueline Surette.
Diddie was a U.S. Army Veteran serving during World War II. He worked for the Stoneham Department of Public Works, Highway Department for many years before his retirement. He was a member of the American Legion Post 620, Stoneham.
He was a loving husband, father, brother and friend.
Mr. Surette was the beloved husband of Dorothy (William) Surette and the late Connie D’Entremont. He was the devoted father of Kevin and his wife Jody Surette. He was the brother of Mae and her husband William McNulty of Stoneham, Douglas Surette and his wife Muriel of Stoneham, Curtis Surette of Bellingham, Ralph Surette of Burlington and uncle to several nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, March 19th at 9:30 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church, Waterville, Maine. Burial will follow in Veteran's National Cemetery, Augusta, Maine. A Mass will be celebrated for Diddie in Stoneham on Saturday, March 23rd at 12:30 p.m. in St. Patrick’s Church 71 Central St.
