Mildred C. Maniscalco, 92

Mildred C. (MacMillan) Maniscalco, age 92, a resident of the Village at Willow Crossings in Mansfield, a former longtime resident of Somerville passed away unexpectedly on Friday, October 25, 2013 at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton.
She was the beloved wife of the late Albert Maniscalco to whom she was wed for 37 years at the time of his death in 1980.
Born in Boston, MA on July 24, 1921 she was a dear daughter of the late William J. and Bertha E. (Burns) MacMillan. She grew up in Somerville and was a graduate of Somerville High School.
Prior to retiring, Mrs. Maniscalco had worked for 19 years at New England Telephone Co. where she retired as a Dispatcher. She had previously been employed at the former First National Store in Somerville.
A resident of Mansfield for the past 5 years, Mildred had formerly resided in Somerville in a home that she had lived in for 85 years. She was a longtime parishioner of St. Benedict’s Church in Somerville and while living in Mansfield had worshiped at St. Mary’s Church in Mansfield.
Mildred loved spending time in the presence of her adoring family. Her interests included shopping, reading, attending yard sales and worldwide traveling.
She is survived by her devoted children, Jan A. Maniscalco of Foxboro, David A. Maniscalco and his wife Carolyn of Mansfield and Judith E. Raineri and her husband John of Marstons Mill. She was the sister of the late William MacMillan, Donald MacMillan, Milton MacMillan and Grace Vigneau. She is also survived by her cherished 6 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Her funeral Mass, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be celebrated on Thursday, October 31st at 10:30 A.M. in St. Mary’s Church, 330 Pratt St. (Route 106) Mansfield. Burial will be held privately at a later date in Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden.
Visiting hours have been omitted and in lieu of flowers, donations in Mildred’s memory may be made to the ALS Association Massachusetts Chapter, 315 Norwood Park South, 1st Floor, Norwood, MA 02062.
