Irene P. (Hansen) Ramut, 68, of Westport, unexpectedly passed away on Thursday, October 24, 2013 at home. She was the wife of Peter Ramut, Jr.
Born in Sydney, Australia, and daughter of the late Robert E. and Hilda A. (Reardon) Hansen, she had resided in Westport since 1973. Prior to her retirement, she worked as a home health aide for the V.N.A. of Fall River. Mrs. Ramut was a veteran of the Australian Army and she enjoyed photography, nature, gardening and spending time with her family. She was a loving wife and mother, and always put everyone first before herself.
Survivors along with her husband include her son: Justin N. Ramut of Westport; her 2 daughters: Tiffany S. Cordery of Westport and Leanne M. Small of Australia; her brother: Robert Hansen of Sydney, Australia; her sister: Margaret Dunn of Sydney, Australia; 4 grandchildren: Jarvis, Chloe, Colbey and Justyna; and her mother-in-law: Helen B. Ramut of Fall River.
She was grandmother of the late Colton M. Cordery.
Graveside service to which relatives and friends are invited will be Monday, October 28, 2013 at 1:00 P.M. at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
Calling hours will be from 10:00 – 11:30 A.M. at the Potter Funeral Home prior to the service.
