Belmont---Roland C. Soucy passed away at his home in Belmont, New Hampshire, after a short illness, on October 20, 2013.
Mr. Soucy was born in Grand Isle, Maine on August 27, 1929, the son of Sylvan and Blanche (Thibodeau) Soucy. As a child, the family moved to Bristol, Conn. where Roland attended Bristol schools. He served in the U.S. Army during the Occupation of Japan. He was a Plumber and Pipefitter Union Member Local #777.
Mr. Soucy is survived by his four children; Lori Soucy Kincade, Lynn Soucy Fritz and Dennis (Sally) Soucy, all from Jacksonville, Fla. and Blair (Sharon) Soucy from Terryville, Conn.; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; three brothers, Sylvio Soucy, Guy (Elsie) Soucy, and Francis (Florence) Soucy and two sisters, Nancy (Stanley) Suchinski, all from Bristol, Conn. and Theresa (Lee) Gelormino of Harwington, Conn. In addition to his parents, Mr. Soucy was predeceased by his sister, Lorraine Bragdon, of Bristol, Conn.
Mr. Soucy will be laid to rest at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway, Boscawen, NH. A Graveside Service with Military Honors will be held on Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at 3:00pm.
