Lowell - Diane (Wallace) Paglia, age 66, died suddenly on Tuesday, October 22, 2013 in Boston. She was the beloved wife of Gerald A. Paglia with whom she celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary in August. She was born May 9, 1947 in Medford a daughter of the late Richard H. and Rosalia (Ducey) Wallace. She spent her early childhood in Wakefield and moved to Tewksbury with her family at age ten where she resided for most of her life. She graduated from the Tewksbury Hospital as an LPN and received her Associates Degree from Northern Essex Community College. She moved to Lowell in 2003.
She was an avid traveler and gardener, she also liked to write and paint. She also ran in the Boston and New York Marathons. She especially enjoyed spending time with family and long-time friends. Before retiring she held various positions in the Tewksbury School Department. She was a communicant of St. William Church in Tewksbury and was formerly a member of St. Dorothy Parish.
Besides her loving husband, Gerald, she is survived by her children, Michael and Elizabeth (Wynn) Paglia of Lowell, Marc Paglia of Lowell, Michelle Paglia of Lowell; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Richard H. Wallace II and his wife Patricia (Meuse) of Greenville, NH, Robert F. Wallace of Tewksbury, Ronald C. Wallace and his wife Joy (Cobleigh) of Tewksbury; a sister and brother-in-law, Deborah and her husband Thomas Sullivan III of Tewksbury, many friends, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Her Funeral Mass was held Saturday, October 26, at 9:30 am from the funeral home, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 am in St. William Church, 1351 Main St., Tewksbury. Her burial will follow at Tewksbury Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made in her name to the donor’s choice.
