Obituary

SPRINGFIELD – Geneva A. (Belaski) Barry, 96, of the Hungry Hill section of Springfield was Called Safely Home on Monday, October 21, 2013. She passed into Eternal Life at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in North Walpole, New Hampshire on February 5, 1917, a beloved daughter of the late Francis J. and Theodora M. (Bobrowski) Belaski. She was raised in Rockingham, Vermont, graduated from Bellows Falls High School and lived in Rockingham for many years before moving to Springfield around 1940. She was employed for many years at the former Bond Bakery and the former A & P Bakery both in Springfield. Geneva was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan and was always ready cheer for her favorite teams. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, William J. Barry who was Called Home on January 30, 1969; her loving sons, Reverend John P. Barry who was Called Home on January 13, 2004, and William S. “Tarzy” Barry who was Called Home on July 10, 2006; and her dear brothers and sister, Alex, Stephen, Edward, and Helen. She leaves her loving children, Michael F. Barry and his companion, Brenda Garrow of Springfield, Katherine L. “Kathy” McCarthy of Enfield, CT, and Peter T. Barry of Springfield; her loving daughter-in-law, Judith A. Barry of Springfield; her six cherished grandchildren, her two cherished great-grandchildren; her dear sister-in-law, Pat Soboleski of Rockingham, VT; and her many dear nephews and nieces. Her relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday morning, October 26, 2013 at 10 a.m. at Saint Charles Church, 31 Cherry Hill Street, Bellows Falls, VT 05101. Her burial will follow the Mass at Saint Charles Cemetery, Cemetery Road, Rte. 5, Westminster, VT 05158. There are no visiting hours.
