Obituary

CHICOPEE – Doris M. (Harrington) Brunelle, 91, of the Willimansett Heights section of Chicopee was Called Safely Home on Wednesday, October 23, 2013. She passed into Eternal Life from her home surrounded by all the memories she loved and cherished. She was born in Holyoke on June 16, 1922, a beloved daughter of the late Carl Norman Harrington, Sr. and Laura (Dufresne) Harrington. She was raised in Holyoke, graduated from Our Lady of Perpetual Help Elementary School and lived in Holyoke for many years before moving to the Willimansett section of Chicopee around 1946. She was employed for many years at the former Highland Laundry and O’Connor’s Laundry, both in Holyoke. She was a longtime communicant of the former Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church in Willimansett and currently a communicant of Sainte Rose de Lima Church in the Aldenville section of Chicopee. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Aldor R. Brunelle, who was Called Home on June 4, 1985. They were married on May 23, 1945 at the former Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Holyoke and were blessed with 40 years of happiness together. She leaves her loving daughter, Barbara L. Brunelle of Chicopee and her fiancé, Richard Klepach of Springfield; her dear brother, Carl Norman Harrington, Jr. and his wife, Gertrude, of Westfield; her dear sister-in-law, Jane Harrington of Easthampton; and several dear nephews and nieces. Besides her parents and husband, she was also predeceased by her two dear brothers, Raymond P. Harrington and Donald R. Harrington; and her dear sister, Laura Beattie. Her funeral will be held on Friday morning, October 25, 2013 beginning at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (funeral home will open at 9 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in Sainte Rose de Lima Church, 600 Grattan Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her burial will follow the Mass at Sainte Rose Cemetery, 49 Olsen Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday morning, October 25, 2013 from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. before the Mass.
