Alfred H. Brickett, 86, of Hampstead, NH, died Wednesday October 23, 2013 in Parkland Medical Center in Derry, NH. He was born in Plaistow, NH on April 19, 1927, a son of the late Harold and Irene (Wheeler) Brickett, and had been a lifelong resident of Hampstead. Alfred was a graduate of Hampstead High School, Class of 1945, and then served in the US Army from 1945 - 1953. He was a member of the Hampstead Volunteer Fire Dept. for 52 years, and had formerly served as the Hampstead Fire Chief. Alfred was the former tax collector and town clerk for the Town of Hampstead.
He is survived by three sons, Ronald Brickett and his wife Carol of Kingston, NH, Douglas Brickett and his wife Susan, and Daniel Brickett all of Hampstead; his daughter, Rev. Janice Howe and her husband Rev. Peter Howe of Hillsborough, NH; nine grandchildren; two great grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Following cremation, a calling hour was held on Saturday, October 26th from 2 - 3pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. A memorial service followed at 3:00pm in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hampstead Fireman's Association, earmarked for Christmas Parade, 17 Littles Lane, Hampstead, NH 03841.
