Obituary

David Neal Crandall, 72, of Anderson, Indiana, went to be with Jesus Christ on October 22, 2012. His unwavering faith, indomitable spirit and the prayers of so many friends and family served him well in his valiant battle with cancer. He remained a tower of inspiration throughout this trial and never once complained or expressed self-pity. He was a man of strong faith, believing in the power and strength of Jesus Christ’s love and the beauty and peace that would await him after his passing as promised in James 1:12:
“Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him."
Dave was born in Anderson on February 2, 1941 to John Wellington and Freda Crandall. He graduated from Anderson high school.
Dave was married to his best friend and sweetheart, Evanell Crandall on July 13, 1968; they were married 45 years.
Dave worked as an Electrician for Guide Lamp Corporation for thirty six years. He enjoyed singing, playing the piano, computers, carpentry, and radio controlled aircraft. His favorite way to spend his time was selflessly helping others. He was actively involved in Madison Park Church of God where he served coordinating the Board of Properties activities. Prior to that, he and Ev were founding members of Southern Heights Christian Church where Dave served as Choir Director for several years.
Dave is survived by his wife, Evanell Crandall, son David Brent Crandall ( Maylene), daughter Kathy Romine and brother Alan Crandall.
Dave is preceded in death by sons Gary Crandall, Brooks Crandall and Jimmie Paul Romine Jr.
Dave’s family is deeply grateful for the outpouring of love, prayers, and support in many heart-felt forms from too many people to name individually, but including family and friends – either through prayer and/or visits, neighbors, and even random acts of kindness through total “strangers”. The family also knows all of Dave’s fellow brothers and sisters in Christ will see him again in Heaven thanks to Christ’s ultimate sacrifice for His children.
Visitation will begin at 12 PM on Tuesday, October 29 at Madison Park Church of God with the funeral service following at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Mike Schwartz of Madison Park Church of God officiating. Interment will be at a later date.
