Obituary

DANVERS: Eleanor B. (Shackelford) Moore, 96, formerly of Gloucester, died Monday, October 21, 2013, at the Hunt Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Danvers.
Born in Gloucester on July 17, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Olive (Sylvester) Shackelford.
Eleanor was employed as a dietician for many years at the Addison Gilbert Hospital.
She was a member of the former Riverdale United Methodist Church. She enjoyed doing crafts and was also a wonderful seamstress, having made many wonderful items for family members. She will be greatly missed.
She is survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law, Lois Darcy Croft and Derrell Croft of FL, Judith and Maurice “Steve” Stephens of Danvers, Nancy Fortunato of FL; two sons and a daughter-in-law, George Moore of Beverly, Robert and Nancy Moore of Danvers; ten grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Betty, wife of Kenneth Reed of GA, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by two brothers, Roger and Robert Shackelford; one sister, Anna Amaral, and her son-in-law, Richard Fortunato.
Her funeral service will be held on Friday morning in the Pike-Grondin Funeral Home, 61 Middle Street, Gloucester at 10 a.m. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday evening from 4 – 7 p.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701 or www.cancer.org. Interment will be held in the Seaside Cemetery, Lanesville.
