Mary Ruth Spicer, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Tuesday, September 21, 2004, at Dorminy Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held 4:00 P.M., Thursday, September 23, 2004, at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel, Fitzgerald, with Rev. David Fisher, Rev. Steve Tucker and Dr. Lloyd Stembridge officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00, Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
Mrs. Spicer was born June 30, 1924, in Fitzgerald, Georgia, to the late Clarence and Bessie Waters Monk. She lived in the community all of her life. Mrs. Spicer was a homemaker and a member of the Baptist faith.
Mrs. Spicer is survived by her children: Lester, Ronnie, Randy and Robert Spicer, all of Fitzgerald, Gracie Williams, Macon, GA, Carolyn Turner, Ty Ty, GA, Betty Carver and Mary McDuffie, both of Fitzgerald; fifteen Grandchildren and twenty-nine great-grandchildren; two brothers: Bill Monk, Gulf Breeze, FL and Jimmy Monk, Jacksonville, FL; one sister: Margaret Mobley, Thomasville, GA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Lester Spicer.
