Ellen M. (Ahern) Babajtis, 63, of Derry, NH passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 20, 2013 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on December 25, 1949 in Lynn, MA, a daughter of the late Charles and Marjorie (Horne) Ahern. Ellen was a very artistic person with an immense amount of creativity. She enjoyed many crafts and hobbies in her life. But the most important thing was her family and being the best Nana she could be to her three beloved grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband Robert P. Babajtis, three daughters, Heather Daigle and her husband Justin, Julie Babajtis, and Jennifer Babajtis Abdulla and her husband Jason; three grandchildren who were the light of her life, Jordynn, Hailey and Jonathan, one brother, Charles Ahern, one sister, Elizabeth Ahern, and two nieces, Allison Benitez and Kristin McGarrell. She was predeceased by her sister Margaret “Peggy” Colby in 2008
Following cremation, memorial calling hours will be held on Friday, October 25, 2013 from 4 -6 pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry. A Memorial service will begin at 6:00pm in the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Ellen’s memory to the COPD Foundation, 2937 SW 27th Ave, Suite 302, Miami, FL, 33133.
