Obituary

June C. Sullivan, 95, of Danecroft Avenue, Greenville died Thursday, October 17, 2013 at her daughter’s home, surrounded by her family. She was the wife of the late Edward F. Sullivan.
Born in Taunton, MA a daughter of the late Alfred P. and Marion W. (Goff) Taylor. She had lived in Smithfield for over 65 years.
She met her husband, Edward, while working at Starkweather and Shepley in Providence. She later worked as a secretary at Coca Cola Botteling, McGuire Engineering and retired as an Administrative Assistant at the State of RI, Board of Review. During WWII she worked at the Sikorsky Factory in CT.
She loved to read, especially historical fiction and non-fiction. She was an avid Red Sox fan, past president of the William Winsor, PTA and former Smithfield Chairman for the American Heart Fund. She enjoyed crewel needlework.
She leaves her children, Edward Sullivan and his wife, Shirley and Mark Sullivan and his wife, Alice, both of Hampton, CT, Karen McNelis and her husband, Kevin of Greenville, her grandchildren, Jennifer Sullivan, Erica Bardan, Mark Sullivan, Robert McNelis, J. Ryan McNelis, Tracy Sullivan, Kelly McNelis, and her great-grandchildren, Mason and Brayden, and a sister, Bernice Dain of Florence, OR. She also leaves, Louis Estrella of Smithfield. She was the grandmother of the late Bruce D. Sullivan and sister of the late Ruth Carlson and A. Philip Taylor. She also leaves many nieces and nephews across the country and lifelong friends in Virginia and Florida.
Her funeral service will be held Thursday at 11:30am in the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Burial will be in Highland Park, Johnston. Visitation Wednesday 5-8pm.
