Obituary

Amherst: Roberta Ann (Fraser) Belk, 73, passed away on Saturday, October 19th surrounded by her loving family. She leaves four children and their spouses: Matthew and Nicole Belk of Rehoboth, MA; Rebekah and Peter Demling of Amherst, MA; Elizabeth Belk and Mark Bates of Kennesaw, GA; and Andrew Belk of Quincy, MA; five grandchildren: Jacob, Timothy and Amanda Demling of Amherst, MA; and Meredith and Evelyn Bates of Kennesaw, GA; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, William H. Belk, Jr., and her sister Joan Fraser McCullough.

Roberta was born on November 14, 1939 in New Haven, Connecticut, daughter of Robert and Annie (Robertson) Fraser. She graduated from Worcester South High School and received her undergraduate and graduate degrees from Fitchburg State University. She worked for over 40 years as a special education teacher in the Clinton Public School system. Roberta was a member of the First Parish Church in Berlin. She enjoyed singing, gardening, baking, reading and writing poetry and walking. She supported many charities and was a regular blood donor.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, October 22nd from 6-8 p.m. at Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln St. Worcester. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 23rd at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery.
