Alice Conceicao, 91, of New Bedford passed away peacefully on Thursday October 17, 2013 at the New Bedford Jewish Convalescent Home.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Joseph R. Andrade and Prudencia Conceicao, she was raised in Cape Verde. At the age of 28, she returned to New Bedford where she lived for the rest of her life.
She was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Assumption Church.
Alice was formerly employed at the Firestone Mill.
She is survived by her son, Marty Conceicao and his wife Lil of Freetown; her sister, Anita L. Turner of New Bedford; her close friend, Lena Lopes; three grandsons, Scott, Geoffrey, and Brian; four great-grandchildren, Michael, Kaleigh, Brendon, and Shaun; and nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was the sister of the late Mary L. Bargasse, Ann M. Pinto, Allen G. Andrade, Joseph R. Andrade, and Sgt. Major Armando O. Andrade.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday at 9 AM at Our Lady of the Assumption Church. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery.
