Evelyn K. "Eve" Rathbun died surrounded by her family at Lawrence & Memorial Hospital on Sunday, September 19, 2004.
Mrs. Rathbun was born on June 16, 1933 in Chicago, Ill. the daughter of Daniel Kowalysyn and Marie Kriedle. She attended Perdue University and Southern CT University where she earned a masters degree in Speech Pathology.
She married John Rathbun in Noank on June 22, 1981 where they lived since.
The last 16 years of her working career was as a speech pathologist in the Ledyard School System.
She is survived by her husband, John A. Rathbun of Noank, and by their children; Daughter Elise Cain and grandson Elliot Cain of Hood River, OR, daughter Cynthia Dragon and grandsons David Dragon and Matthew Dragon of Noank, Daughter Rachelle Barron and granddaughters Kathryn Dixon and Cynthea Dixon of Noank. Laura R. Hall of Mystic, John A. Rathnbun of Ledyard, Nancy E. Rathbun of Westerly, and James A. Rathbun of Noank.
There will be a memorial reception at the home of her daughter Cynthia Dragon at 17 Mainsail Drive (off of Rte. 215) in Noank on Wednesday, September 22nd beginning at 4pm.
Donations in her name may be made to the Visiting Nurse Assoc. of SECT or as blood donations to Lawrence & Memorial Blood Bank to help replace units used in her final illness.
