Rose (Motta) Medeiros, age 96 passed away Oct. 14, 2013. Born in Fall River, she was the widow of Joseph “Jazzy” Medeiros and daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Cordeiro) Motta. She had worked as a spooler and floor girl in local mills and sewing shops before retiring in 1979. She was a member of the ILGWU, the Holmes Apartment Senior Citizens’ Club and the Holy Rosary Society of St. Michael Church where she was a parishioner.
Rose was the beloved mother of Kathleen Cabral of Fall River and sister of the late Robert, Edward, Joseph and Antone Motta, Mary Cordeiro and Laura St. Laurent. She leaves several nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, Inc. 1521 N. Main St., Fall River Thursday with calling hours in the funeral home 9:00-10:30 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Michael Church at 11:00 A.M. Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery. www.rogersfuneral.com
