Hooksett– Pauline Albea (Lemoine) Carignan, 86, a longtime resident of Hooksett passed away peacefully on October 8, 2013 at Kirkwood Corners in Lee surrounded by her loving family. Pauline was born on May 20, 1927 in Lawrence, MA the daughter of Louis Aime and Imelda (Latarte) Lemoine. She attended school in Lawrence at St. Theresa's for her twelve years of schooling. Following her graduation she was employed by the Eagle Tribune in Lawrence and later worked for the telephone company until she left work to stay home to care for her mother after's who’s death she cared for her father and three brothers. She married Henry C. Carignan of Manchester, NH on September 4, 1950 and moved to Manchester. They subsequently built a home and moved to Hooksett in 1955 to raise their family.
She was a member of the Deerhead Ladies Auxiliary and a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church choir for many years. She was president of the World’s Best Mother’s Club for 62 years and a member of the World’s Best Wives Club for 56 years. She loved being with and doing for her family and loved ones. She was an accomplished cook, seamstress and crocheter. Behind her sparkling hazel eyes and ready warm smile, was an innovative and resourceful intellect, a wondrously warm, compassionate kind heart, and generous spirit. She will live on through those whose lives she touched.
Pauline was predeceased by her husband of 56 years Henry, her granddaughter Katie Lynn and grandson John Alan.
She is survived by five sons, Ralph and his partner Wendy of Hooksett, William and his wife Laura of Manchester, Steven and his partner Sue of Hooksett, Alan and his wife Lori of Epsom, Walter and his wife Beth of Auburn; two daughters Darlene Wenblad of Auburn, Sandra Butler and her husband William of Hooksett; 16 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, one brother, Paul Lemoine of Seabrook, two sisters, Claudette Wile, Linda Fay both of Mass. and many nieces and nephews all of whom she loved dearly. She was a few months shy of having one great great grandchild. She was also predeceased by three brothers, Raymond, Roger and Ronald Lemoine.
Calling hours will be Thursday from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 PM at the J. N. Boufford Funeral Home 110 Bridge St..
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday at 10 am in St. Peter’s Church, Auburn. Committal prayers will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations in Pauline’s name may be made to the Shriners Children’s Hospital, 516 Carew St., Springfield, MA. 01104.
