Mazie Juanita Holley McLamb, 82, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Monday, October 7, 2013, at her residence in Fitzgerald.
Memorial services will be held 2 PM, Sunday, October 13, 2013, at First Presbyterian Church in Fitzgerald, with the Rev. Steve O’Neal officiating.
Ms. McLamb was born January 9, 1931, to the late Joseph Holley and Rema Dollar Holley Cason. She was a resident of Fitzgerald most of her life. She operated the From Scratch Bakery from her home for several years in Fitzgerald and was also a representative for Avon and Weight Watchers. She was very active in her community, volunteering for the Pink Ladies at Dorminy Medical Center in Fitzgerald and Blue Gray Hospice. She was a founding board member of the Ben Hill County Volunteer Fire Department and the Cherokee Garden Club. Ms. McLamb was a member of First Presbyterian Church, where she served as Elder and Trustee.
She is survived by: one son: Michael McLamb of Fitzgerald; two daughters: Cathy Wallis of Fitzgerald and Debbie Ward of South Lake Tahoe, California; three grandchildren: Jason Wallis of Fitzgerald, Karen Wallis of Douglas and Jacob Ward of San Diego, California. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: James F. McLamb, one son, one granddaughter and four brothers.
