Obituary

Raymond C. Fisher, 89, of Norton Street, Derry, NH died Sunday October 28, 2001 at the Parkland Medical Center, Derry following a lengthy illness. He was born in Derry, NH on April 4, 1912, a son of the late Charles M. and Jessie A. (Clark) Fisher. He was a lifelong resident of Derry. He graduated from Pinkerton Academy, Class of 1930, where he was president of the Senior Class, editor of The Critic, and was a long distance runner. He was a member of the Pinkerton Academy Hall of Fame. He worked as the editor of the Derry News for 29 years and for the Haverhill Journal, Haverhill, MA for six years. He and his wife operated Fisher Print shop from their home since 1965.

He is survived by his wife of 69 years Evelyn (Becker) Fisher, of Derry, one son Richard F. (Wife Judy) Fisher, of Epping, three grandchildren, Richard “Rick” (wife Cindi) Fisher, of Derry, Cheryl Marcotte, of Derry, James (wife Julie) Fisher, of Manchester, four great-grandchildren, Randy Marcotte, Marissa Marcotte, Kyle Fisher, Kaitlyn Fisher, and many cousins.

According to his wishes, there will be no calling hours or services. Following cremation, burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. East Derry at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Pinkerton Academy, 5 Pinkerton Street, Derry, NH 03038.
