Obituary

Boyd, Philip Charles, 88 of Plymouth formerly of N. Andover and Lexington, passed away peacefully at Bay Path Nursing home with his family at his side. Husband of the late Nancy (Merz) Boyd, he leaves two sons Gregory and his wife Pamela Boyd of Sandwich, Gordon and his wife Debra Boyd of Arlington. He also leaves two granddaughters Lindsay Sullivan and her husband Ryan, Lauren Gilrein and her husband Sean and one great granddaughter Kendall Gilrein all of Sandwich.

Philip was born in Cambridge the son of Gordon and Rosamond Boyd and grew up in Medford. Philip joined the U.S. Navy and served during WWII on the USS Weeden in the South Pacific then went onto graduate from Bryant & Stratton College. He worked at the family business, Gordon Boyd & Co., Inc. (insurance adjusters). Philip loved playing golf, tennis and travel, and spending time with his family.

Visiting hours will be held at the Richard Davis Funeral Home 619 State Road (Rte 3A) Plymouth (Manomet) on Thursday October 10, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. A funeral Service will be held at the Funeral Home on Friday October 11 at 12 Noon. Burial will be in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, MA immediately following. In lieu of flowers donations in Philip’s memory may be made to the Cranberry Hospice, 36 Cordage Park Cir. Suite 326, Plymouth, MA 02360
