Anthony Cassarino died peacefully at his Blackstone home on Friday September 27th. He was 82.
Anthony was born and raised in Sicily, the son of the late Paul and Concetta (Failla) Cassarino. He came to the United States at the age of 18 and lived in Boston’s West End and North End neighborhoods, before settling in Medford. He was a plasterer throughout his life and the company he founded is still conducted by his sons. Anthony was a hardworking man who was dedicated to his family. After his retirement, he and his wife of 61 years eventually settled in Blackstone where they have lived for the past three years.
In addition to his beloved wife of 61 years, Concetta (LaMonica) Cassarino, Anthony was a devoted father to Paul Cassarino and his wife Concetta of Hubbardston, Anthony Cassarino and his wife Gail of Saugus, Sandra Schott and her husband Steve of Framingham, Donna Giliberto and her husband Salvatore of Medford, Joey Cassarino and his wife Paula of Athol. He is lovingly survived by 13 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Anthony also leaves his siblings: Tina Firicano, Rose Austin, Nancy Cincotti, Bob Cassarino, Diane Puopolo the late Salvatore and Frank Cassarino.
Family and friends are kindly invited to visit with the family at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Thursday October 10th from 4 thru 8 PM and again on Friday morning at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in the Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant Street, Malden, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting Hours Thursday from 4 thru 8 PM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
