Joseph R.C. “Clem” Bessette, 75, of Worcester died Saturday, October 5th surrounded by his loving family in Radius Health Care Center. He leaves his wife, Patricia D. (McManus) Bessette with whom he would have celebrated his 54th wedding anniversary with on October 11th. He also leaves two daughters, Tracy L. Mannila of Worcester and Susan E. Bessette of Boylston; three brothers, Nelson Bessette of Colorado, Patrick Bessette and his wife, June of Brewster and Armand Bessette and his wife, Judie of Charlton; five grandchildren, Kayla, Cody and Chase Mannila, Kevin and Zachary Murnane and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his only son, Steven M. Bessette who died in 2002 at the age of 41.
Mr. Bessette was born in Worcester the son of Armand and Juliette (Lessard) Bessette. Clem worked for 39 years at Wyman Gordon in the Forge Shop in North Grafton and also spent some time in the Titanium Plant in Millbury. Joseph was a member of Christ the King Church.
His funeral is Thursday, October 10th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a Mass at 11:00 AM in Christ the King Church, 1052 Pleasant Street. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery. Calling hours are Wednesday, October 9th from 5:00 until 7:00 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Worcester Animal Rescue League, 139 Holden Street, Worcester, MA 01606.
