Mr. Ronald F. Smith, of Washington D.C. died September 21, 2013 from failing health due to a stroke this past March. His passing was peaceful and calm. Ron resided at AFRH, Washington, D.C. for the last 21 years. Born in the city of Taunton, Mass., May 9th 1928, he was 85 years old. Ron’s occupation was in construction and carpentry. He was a Korean War veteran and an active member of the 8th Ranger Infantry Company, Airborne. He was the son of the late Thomas and Mary Smith of Taunton. Also the brother of his late sister, Thelma, and brother, Thomas. He is survived by his brother, Mark Smith, and sisters, Mary Strojny and Louise Boffetti, of Taunton. His children, Donna, Ronald Jr., Deborah, Patricia, Kathleen, and Jennifer. Also seven grandchildren and one great grandchild. We will miss him very much. Private services have been provided by The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home of Taunton on October 4th. Ron was laid to rest at St. Joseph Cemetery in Taunton with his parents and brother.
