NATICK: Thomas Alan “Tom” Stanton, 71, died in the comfort and care of his family on Wednesday, October 2, 2013 following a brief illness.
He was born on October 26, 1941 in Somerville the son of the late Thomas E. Stanton and Frances M. (Hennessey) Stanton.
Tom is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 37 years Jeanne F. (Tessier) Stanton of Natick. Beloved father of Mary-Jo Ploetz and her husband Brian Ploetz of Ashland. He was the proud Grampy of his cherished Olivia F. “Livvy” Ploetz who brought joy into his life.
Tom spent his formative years in Wayland and graduated from Waltham Technical and Trade School with the Class of 1960. He was a resident of Natick for the past 37 years. Tom retired in 1996 after 36 years of dedicated service as a mail carrier for the United States Postal Service in Wayland and Cochituate. He was a communicant of St. Ann’s Parish and St. Zepherin’s Church. He was devoted to his family who was the center of his life and especially enjoyed the time he had with them and Livvy.
Visitations will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2013 from 10:00 to 11:00 am followed by his funeral service at 11:00 am at the John C. Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Road (Off Rte 30), Cochituate Village, Wayland.
Interment will follow in the Stanton family lot in North Cemetery in Wayland.
