Obituary

Joanne C. (McKay) Mackay, 83 of Salem and formerly of Marblehead, died Monday, September 30, 2013 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers. She was the wife of the late Stanley Rae Mackay.

Born in Springfield and raised in Newton, she received her certification as a medical laboratory technician from the Boston Dispensary in 1950. Following her marriage to Stan in 1952 they settled in Newton. Over the years the family has lived in Topsfield, Longmeadow and most recently Marblehead. Joanne was active in St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Marblehead and also did community volunteer work. She was a member of the Daughters of 1812.

She is survived by two daughters, Jane Mackay of Springfield and Anne C. Mackay of Eliot ME, a sister, Rosanna Seamans of Leeds, MA, as well as 3 grandchildren Ryan Sullivan, Emily Sullivan and Amy Elizabeth Feinstein, She was predeceased by her son, S. Rae Mackay and grandson, Matthew Feinstein.

Relatives and friends are invited to her Memorial Service on Friday, October 4, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. in the Church of St. Andrew, 135 Lafayette St., [Rt. 114] Marblehead, 01945.
