LACONIA-----Elfriede “Elfie” Preuss, 76, of 89 Anthony Drive, died at her home Monday, Sept 30, 2013.
Mrs. Preuss was born November 18, 1936 in Lubeck, Germany, the daughter of the late Max and Elisabeth Haase.
Mrs. Preuss immigrated to the US in 1958 and resided in Boston, Mass. before moving to Laconia in 1960. She had been employed as a Human Service Specialist for Community Council Service for over twenty years. She enjoyed swimming, hiking and much of what the lakes region has to offer. She avidly enjoyed Laconia Library activities such as the book club and volunteered for a diverse number of organizations aimed at supporting the lives of others.
Mrs Preuss was predeceased by her sister and two brothers. Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Remo Preuss, and a daughter, Heidi Preuss, both of Laconia.
A celebration of her life will be held Saturday October 5 for those close to the family.
