Kenneth Ward Spangler, Jr. age 76, passed away October 1, 2013 at the Tift Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 5, 2013, in the Chapel of Baker-Post Funeral Home in Manassas, Virginia. Rev. Gene Wells will officiate with burial to be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. in Quantico National Cemetery, Triangle, Virginia. The family will receive friends on Friday, October 4, 2013, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Baker-Post Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 10001 Nokesville Rd. Manassas, Virginia.
Mr. Spangler was born on March 14, 1937 in Floyd County, Virginia and was the son of Kenneth and Arroy Robertson Spangler, both deceased. On April 29th, 1962 in Greenwich, Virginia, he married the former Barbara Compton, who preceded him in death on August 5, 2010.
Mr. Spangler worked as an inspector for Prince William County, Virginia for over 30 years. He was a life member of the NRA, and the NSSA (North-South Skirmish Association); and a former member of the Woodbine Family Worship Center.
Mr. Spangler is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth W. Spangler, III and his wife Sharon of Broad Run, Virginia; two daughters and sons-in-law, Darlene and Neil Motter of Tifton and Theresa and David Addison of Locust Grove, Virginia; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
