BEARD, Sarah Kelly of Newton, Massachusetts died on September 28, 2013 at the age of 39 after a long battle with cancer. Kelly was a student at Andover Newton Theological School where she was pursuing a Masters in Divinity degree at the time of her death.
Kelly grew up in Louisville, Kentucky, where she was born on June 17, 1974. Kelly was a 1992 graduate of the Louisville Collegiate School and a 1996 graduate of Williams College, where her leadership capabilities were recognized as a Junior Advisor and by her election to the Gargoyle honorary Society. She obtained a Masters in Education degree from the University of Virginia. She taught and tutored elementary school students in Charlottesville and Richmond, Virginia before enrolling at Andover Newton.
Kelly had a wonderful zest for life and her passions included rugby, hiking, biking, travel, painting and photography. She particularly enjoyed celebrating her Kentucky roots by hosting Kentucky Derby parties in Boston and in Charlottesville and Richmond, Virginia.
Kelly is survived by her parents, W. Robinson Beard and Barbara Waterfill Beard of Louisville, by her twin sister Breckinridge Beard Peabody, her brother-in-law Mark Peabody, her niece and nephew, Ryan Peabody and Lainey Peabody, all of Arlington, MA, and by her fiancee, Sarah Elizabeth Wysocki of San Francisco, California.

A memorial service will be held in the Chapel at Andover Newton Theological School at 5:00 PM on Wednesday, October 2nd and another at Christ Church Cathedral, 421 South Second Street, Louisville, Kentucky on Saturday, October 19th at 11:00 AM.
