Evelyn Mae (Johnson) Briscoe, 86, beloved wife of 54 years to the late Alton E. Briscoe and daughter of the late Frank Johnson and Agnes Johnson Green, passed away on 10 August at University Medical Center of Princeton in Plainsboro, NJ.
Born on December 27, 1926, she grew up and, with her husband, raised her family in Brockton. Mrs. Briscoe became a permanent resident of Marshfield almost 30 years ago, having spent her summers in the Rexhame Beach community since she was a child.
Mrs. Briscoe was a loving mother, grandmother and homemaker. Through the years she enjoyed travel, bowling, sewing and knitting, painting and Japanese bunka. She was active in social groups including the 72’s in Abington and in the Independent Order of Odd Fellows in Brockton where she was a Rebekah.
Mrs. Briscoe is survived by three daughters, Sharon Bombardier of Abington, Cheryl Stuart of Burnsville, MN and Lyn Loeb of Skillman, NJ; 11 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. She is a sister of the late Ruth Seaquist of Marshfield and the late Louise Fratus of New Port Ritchie, FL.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday October 5 at 1:00pm at the North Community Church, 72 Old Main Street, in Marshfield Hills with the Rev. Pam McGrath officiating.
