Clevenger, Howard Talmadge, 88 of Louisville passed away Thursday, September 26, 2013.
He was born in McEwen, Tennessee to William Branford Clevenger and Martha Catherine (Shanks) Clevenger. He served in Europe during WWII as a member of the 387th Armored Division-Anti-Aircraft and was employed for 38 years at DuPont Chemical as a Lab Technician.
Howard was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and his beagle dogs. He also liked to play darts and cards, square dance, and sit in his backyard, smoke his pipe and feed the squirrels. He was a charter member of his church, Good Shepherd Lutheran, and volunteered many hours there.
Howard was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Emma Louise (Cissna) Clevenger, his son Roger and grandson Reed.
Survivors include his children; Howard “Pete” (Sandy), Nancy “Kay” and Carol (Kathy); daughter-in-law, Debbie; grandchildren, Holly (Grady), Tad Alex (Chris), Nathan (Stephanie), Tim, Joe (Betsy), Forest and Clay; great-grandchildren, Tegan, Sophie, Kylee, James, Amelia, Wyatt, and Anna.
Funeral service will be at 10:00am Monday at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 9718 Dixie Highway with burial in Bethany Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 12:00 noon to 8pm at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway. Memorial Gifts may be made to his church.
