WORCESTER-Leonard C. Lovejoy, Sr., 81, of 11 Sever Street, died Tuesday, September 14th in the Christopher House. He leaves his wife of 59 years, Margaret (Paladino) Lovejoy, his son, Leonard C. Lovejoy, Jr., and his wife, Janice of Worcester, 3 daughters, Joanne wife of Kern E. Narva of Rutland, Linda E. Deschenes of Hindsdale, NH and Gail M. Lovejoy of Worcester, a half sister Joyce Oliver of Burlington, VT, 7 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and many nephews and nieces.
He was born in Burlington, VT the son of Harry and Frances (Murphy) Lovejoy. He retired from the David Clark Company, and previously had worked for 22 years at Washburn Wire. Mr. Lovejoy was a member of St. Paul’s Cathedral Parish, a former member of the Alhambra Council, Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed time spent with family and was an avid reader.
The funeral is Friday, September 17th, from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Paul’s Cathedral, 15 Chatham Street. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are Thursday, September 16th from 5:00 until 8:00 PM in the funeral home.
