Obituary

George A. Beauregard, 91, of Peabody and formerly of Salem, died Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at Kaplan Family Hospice House, Danvers, MA
George was born November 11, 1921 to Donat and Rose (Richard) Beauregard in Salem, MA. George served in the United States Army in WWII as a tank driver. He married his childhood sweetheart, Doris Theriault shortly after returning from the war in 1947. A carpenter by trade, George took pride in his work and built their family home, where he and Doris, along with their three sons enjoyed many wonderful years.
After raising their family, George & Doris traveled extensively throughout the United States, including Hawaii, Europe, Africa, Australia, as well as the fun vacations in the Caribbean. George loved to spend time with his family and friends. The role he loved best of all was being a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
He was quite athletic in his younger years and upon retirement he ‘discovered’ the game of golf and became ‘hooked’. He continued playing until the age of 90. George was a quiet, humble man, well-liked by all who met him. ‘Big George’ will be missed! He had a good run!!
He is survived by two sons, Peter R. Beauregard and his wife Peggy of Dover, NH, John E. Beauregard and his wife Jo-Ann of Nashua, NH, a daughter-in-law, Terry Beauregard of New Orleans, a sister Jeannette Levasseur of Goffstown. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Christina Beauregard; Nicole Paget and her husband, Michael; Peter D. Beauregard and his wife, Amy; Josh Beauregard and his wife, Justine; Zak Beauregard, four great-grandchildren, Gavin & Alec Beauregard and Elizabeth & Caroline Paget as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Doris, son Donald and grandson Jeffrey Beauregard, and his brothers, Armand, Frank and Joe.
We want to thank the entire staff at Brooksby Village in Peabody, MA for their kindness, care and support.
