Obituary

Worcester - Donald Mays, 57, passed away on Friday, Sept. 20, 2013, after a long battle with cancer. He grew up in Worcester and attended North High School where he was a shining athlete. Donald was a former Boatswain's Mate in the U.S. Navy and a two-time Golden Gloves champion. He worked at Worcester State Hospital for many years and was the Jack-of-all-trades. He did roofing, video production, and maintenance work. He volunteered countless hours to the many youth sports teams he coached.

Donald is predeceased by his mother and father, Ida and Richard Mays; three sisters, Anna Mays, Doris Mays, and Linda Hazard; brother, Lee "Bubba" Mays; and the love of his life Debbie Seay. He is survived by his only child, Theresa Seay of Holden; two sisters, Robyn Mays of Worcester and Stacy White of Virginia Beach, VA; one brother, Richard Mays of Worcester; two step-daughters, Julia Bowden Smith and Catherine Welsh of Turner's Falls; four grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews, and devoted friends.
