New Bedford - Ethel M. (Conner) Kinton Monteiro, 76, of New Bedford passed away September 12, 2013 at the Royal Taber Nursing Home. She was the widow of Garland E. Kinton, the widow of John Monteiro and the companion of Raymond St. Pierre.
Mrs. Monteiro was born in Bertie County, NC, daughter of the late Ervin C. and Vivian L. (Harrell) Conner, and resided in New Bedford since 1976. She was a member of the Haven Baptist Church. She was employed as an assembler by Farr Instrument. She enjoyed reading, listening to music and walking on the beach.
In addition to her companion, she is survived by 2 daughters: Shirley K. Hughes and Ruby L. Kinton, both of Virginia; a son: Donald E. Kinton of Virginia; 2 sisters: Peggie Madison and Jean Abel both of Virginia; 4 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and several nieces & nephews.

A memorial service on Sunday. September 29, 2013 at 12:30 P.M. at the Haven Baptist Church, 519 County Street, New Bedford.
An additional memorial service will be held in Virginia at a later date.
