Stanton Jr. and his wife Kathryn of Mt. Pleasant, MI; Christine S. Ferrara and her husband Andrew of Westwood. Loving grandfather of Michael, Julia, Daniel, and Kathryn Stanton, Andrew and Elena Ferrara, and the late Sean Stanton. Brother of the late Thomas Stanton and Phyllis Lindgren. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Graduate of St. Mary’s High School in Brookline, Boston College Class of 1954 and Suffolk Law School 1960. Richard loved the Marines and was a Korean War Veteran in the US Marine Corps. He was a fan of B.C. Football and the Boston Red Sox. He loved ice cream, was an avid golfer, exerciser, walker, reader of history, universe, and Marines. Late employee of Lumbermens Mutual Insurance; American Mutual Insurance; Driscoll, Gillespie, and Stanton Law Firm; Stanton and Hamill Law Firm. Member of Sagamore Beach Colony Club, Atlantic Golf Club of Plymouth, and Colonial Health Club of Lynnfield.
Funeral from the George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 477 Washington St. (Rt. 16) Wellesley, Monday at 10 AM. Funeral Mass in St. Julia Church, Weston, at 11AM. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Visiting hours Sunday 4-8PM. Interment in Linwood Cemetery, Weston.
