Harold M. Pruden, 102, of Main St., Fremont, died Thursday, March 14, 2002, at the Colonial Poplin Nursing Home in Fremont following a brief illness. He was born in Basking Ridge, NJ on November 3, 1899, a son of the late Fred W. and Amelda (Mutchler) Pruden. He was a resident of Fremont since 1996, formerly living in Sandown for many years, and East Orange and Maplewood, NJ. He worked for Western Electric and Bell Laboratories before retiring in 1964. He was a member of many Masonic Lodges both in NJ and NH. He was also a member of St. Matthews United Methodist Church in Sandown and was a member of the 60 Plus Club. He was a senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers.
He is survived by one nephew, Robert Fuechsel and his wife Gloria of Whippany, NJ, two cousins, Bertha Leonard of NJ, and Emily McQuillen of Indiana. He is also survived by his nephew’s wife Marlene Holmes of Hooksett and their daughters Jean Clement, of Hooksett and Jennifer Minton, of Francestown. Harold was predeceased by Lillian Snable his wife of 53 years, and Bertha Stevens his wife of 20 years. He was also predeceased by his brother Robert Pruden, his sister Rilda Fuechsel, and a nephew Philip Holmes Jr.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 19th at 10:00 at the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. The burial will be in the Center Cemetery in Sandown. Friends may call on Monday, March 18th from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 in the funeral home. A masonic ritual will be performed at 7:30pm Monday. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
