Marion “Jackie” (Jackson) Sestini, 91, passed away on Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at the Atrium at Veronica Drive in Danvers, MA.
Born in Eliot, Maine, she was the daughter of Allen and Ada (Conway) Jackson. She was very proud of her service to our country, serving in the U.S. Coast Guard during WW II, and was discharged in 1946 with the rank Yeoman 3rd Class. Marion worked in the office for an insurance agency for many years before spending 15 years as an Engineering Secretary with AT&T in North Andover, MA. “Aunt Jinny” was well-known for her crafting, including quilts, cross-stitch, and crochet.
Marion is preceded in death by her loving husband of 51 years, Roland Sestini, sister Florence Vannett, and brother, William Jackson. She is survived by her brother Allen S. Jackson, Jr. and his wife Mary, sisters-in-law Leona Sestini and Marie Regan and her husband Ed and many nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 1 at 10:30a.m. at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, Inc., 233 Lawrence Street, Methuen, MA 01844. Burial will immediately follow in Elmwood Cemetery, also in Methuen. Donations may be made in Marion’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association 480 Pleasant Street Watertown, MA 02472.
