Elaine (Diogo) Barao, 75, of New Bedford died September 21, 2013 after a long illness.
She was the wife of the late Normand S. Barao.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Joseph and Joaquina (Lameiras) Diogo, she lived in New Bedford all of her life.
Mrs. Barao was the president of the New Bedford Health Care Center Resident's Activities Club. She enjoyed caring for her family and friends and the company of her cat Mischief.
Survivors include her 2 sons, Raymond Barao and Cynthia of Rockville Centre, NY and Normand Barao, Jr. and Rosemary of Blooming Grove, NY; a sister, Lucy Santos of Tiverton, RI; 3 grandchildren, Madison, Nicholas and Samantha; her Godson, Kevin Amaral; and many loving cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Fred Diogo, Arthur Diogo, Hilda Amaral and Ida Diogo.
Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford Wednesday, September 25th at 9 AM. Funeral Mass at St. Mary's Church, Dartmouth at 10 AM. Burial will follow in Rural Cemetery. Visiting hours will be on Tuesday, September 24th from 5-8 PM.
