Robert A. Blanchard

TEWKSBURY - Robert A. Blanchard, a retired field accountant in commercial construction, diedunexpectedly Monday morning, Sept. 13, at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Medford. Hewas the husband of Jan (Wright) Blanchard, with whom he had celebrated a 46th weddinganniversary this past Aug. 15th.
He was born in Canbridge, Feb. 25, 1937, the only child of Arthur and Anna (Doherty)Blanchard. He lived his entire life in Somerville, before moving to Tewksbury in 1990. Heattended Somerville schools, and graduated Somerville High School with the Class of 1956. Heattended Bentley College for accounting.
He served in the U.S. Air Force in the years between the Korean and Vietnam wars.
He began his work as a field accountant with the George Fuller Company. He had also workedfor many large construction companies including J. F. White, United Engineers in SeabrookN.H., and most recently with Macomber Company.
He was a member of the St. William’s Church community.
He was a member of the Danvers Gun Club, and a life member of the National Rifle Association.
Besides his wife, he leaves many friends throughout Massachusetts and New Hampshire.
His Funeral Service was held Thursday, Sept. 16, in the funeral home. Interment was in St.Mary’s Cemetery, No. Tewksbury.
