Ralph J. Bolognese passed away Thursday at the Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston. He was 82.
Born and raised in Medford, he was the son of the late Ralph and Laura (Piacente) Bolognese. After high school, Ralph enlisted in the Air Force and served during the Korean War. He graduated from the franklin Institute in Boston and worked as an engineer with several construction firms, including Peabody Construction Co. In his retirement he worked with the Massachusetts Water Resource Authority for the construction of the Deer Island Treatment Plant. He was devoted to his family, enjoyed gardening, the outdoors and spending time on the Cape.
The beloved husband of Ellen (Giggi), he was a devoted father to Elaine Bolognese and her partner Barbara Hardy of South Dennis, Ralph Bolognese and his wife Karen of Winchester. He leaves his loving grandchildren: Anne, William and Andrew, his dear brother of Anthony Bolognese of Medford and was predeceased by his siblings: the late Jean Orlando, Domenic and Frank Bolognese.
His funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St. Medford, Tuesday September 24th at 8 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High Street, Medford, at 9 AM Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Monday 5 - 8 PM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
