Jordao N. Sousa, 94, of Westport died Thursday, September 19, 2013 at Kimwell Nursing Home. He was husband of the late Joaquina N. (Freitas) Sousa.
Born in Madeira, Portugal, he was son of the late Joao N. and Rita (Augusta) Sousa. Prior to retirement, he was a construction laborer. Mr. Sousa was a Communicant of St. George Church, Westport and a lifelong member of the S.S. Sacrament Club in New Bedford. He also enjoyed playing cards.
Survivors include a son: Jordao S. DeSousa of Brentwood, NH; 2 daughters: Maria Sousa of Westport and Conceicao Medeiros of Fall River; 10 grandchildren; several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was father of the late Manuel N. Sousa and grandfather of the late Michael Sousa and Daniel DeSousa.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be Monday, September 23, 2013 from the Potter Funeral Home at 9:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. George Church, Westport at 10:00 A.M.
Calling hours Sunday 5 – 8 P.M.
Interment in Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport.
