Worcester – Doris J. (Picard) White, 94, of Coes Pond Village, Worcester, MA passed away peacefully of September 15, 2013 at Christopher House after a period of declining health.
Doris was born in Worcester, MA in 1919 and lived here all of her life. She was the daughter of the late Clifford, Sr. and Parmelia (Robinson) Picard. Doris attended the former, Commerce High School in Worcester. She was married to Frank H. White in 1939 and was married for 48 Years. Frank passed away in 1987.
She leaves a daughter, Roberta Rivers and her husband, Al of Dunedin, FL; a son, Ron White and his wife, Janeen of Worcester, MA; a brother, Roland Picard and his wife Betty; a sister, Phyllis Palmer and her husband, Emmett; all of St. Pete Beach, FL. She was predeceased by her brothers, Ralph, Edward, and Clifford Picard, Jr.; also, by her sister, Vivian Lajoie.
She leaves 6 grandchildren, Charles and Laura Carroll of Groton, MA; Sharon Carroll of Worcester, MA; Pamela Dyson of Worcester, MA; Christina Rodwill of Sutton, MA and Tracey Rivers-Standring of Clearwater, FL; Jill and Bill Jeffers of Worcester, MA and 1 step-grandchild, David Hey and wife, Cheryl of Riverview, FL. She also leaves 15 great-grandchildren; 2 step grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
The funeral will be held on Thursday, September 19th from the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home 12 Hammond St. with a Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM in Saint Andrew the Apostle Church 5 Spaulding Street. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours are on Wednesday, September 18th from 6 to 8 PM in the funeral home.
