Edward Levi Blackford, 81, of Anderson died September 15, 2013 at St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital after a short illness.
He was born in Elwood, IN October 8, 1931 to Roy K. and Eva (Anderson) Blackford.
He served in the Army National Guard.
He worked at Delco Remy for 46 years before retiring in 1996.
He was an avid model railroad enthusiast and member of Anderson Library Model Railroad Club where he served as Superintendent.
On January 18, 1972, he married Betty L. (Wood) Blackford, who preceded him in death November 24, 2008.
He is survived by seven sons, Jim (Terri) Blackford; Mike (Loretta) Cox; John (Samantha) Blackford; Jerry (Sherry) Blackford; Randy (Angela) Cox; Robert Cox; Don (Renee) Blackford; five daughters, Miranda Walton; Donita Guillemette; Cathy (Bob) Epperly; Susan (Darren) Grile and Laura (Shawn) Gordon; many grandchildren and many great grandchildren; five siblings, Freda Georgel; Don Blackford, George Blackford; Diane Homler and Mike Blackford; many nieces and nephews; special friend, Sonny Earhart.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his son, Dale Blackford; son-in-law, Tom Guillemette; two sisters and four brothers.
Service will be 11:30 A.M. on Thursday, September 19, 2013 at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service
with Rev. Dan Bair and Rev. Susan Cameron officiating. Burial will be in East Maplewood Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4 to 8 PM.
